What's your tagline / mission?

Where Emotion Meets Intelligence.™

How did you start working on this idea?

I’m a Coda (Child of Deaf Adults), interpreter, educator, and emotional intelligence coach. After two decades navigating high-stress interpreting environments and training others in the field, I saw the emotional toll that interpreters, educators, and frontline professionals were carrying, with no scalable support system. When the pandemic hit, I began developing AI-powered emotional intelligence tools to help people reflect, self-regulate, and grow. What started as a journal prompt became a full product ecosystem grounded in neuroscience and built to scale.

What problem are you trying to solve and how big is it?

We’re solving the burnout, emotional overload, and lack of scalable emotional intelligence training in high-emotion industries like interpreting, education, and youth leadership. The global mental health crisis is not just personal—it's professional, organizational, and systemic. EQ is one of the top predictors of success and well-being, yet most professionals have never been taught how to develop it in real-world, emotionally charged contexts.

The market is massive:
70M U.S. students + 4.5M teachers
90,000+ interpreters globally
300M+ emotionally taxed frontline professionals
And there’s no dedicated neurotech-powered EQ platform meeting them where they are.

What is your solution and how does it work?

ReflectiveMinds.AI is building emotionally intelligent, neuroscience-based tools powered by AI. Our ecosystem includes:
StudyEQ: A workshop and product storefront with downloadable journals, micro-practice kits, and emotional check-in tools.
InterpretReflect: An emotionally intelligent journaling platform for interpreters, combining pre/post-assignment emotional check-ins, guided prompts, and our AI agent Lumi™.
CEUBridge: A compliance automation tool for continuing education units (CEUs), making training smoother and measurable.
Lumi™: Our emotionally intelligent reflection agent, trained on trauma-informed principles, DBT/CBT tools, and neuroscience.
Users grow EQ by doing, not just learning, through reflection, journaling, simulations, and interactive support.

What is your business model / how do you make money?

We offer:
Digital product sales via StudyEQ.com (journals, check-in decks, guided reflection kits)
Platform subscriptions for InterpretReflect (freemium → $7–$29/month)
Institutional licensing for agencies, schools, and interpreter programs
Continuing education bundles with CEU accreditation
Future SaaS tiers for educators, coaches, and orgs

How did you go to market and start acquiring customers?

We soft-launched our content through workshops with interpreter communities, Deaf-led organizations., and leadership cohorts. That allowed us to validate the emotional intelligence content, gather reflection data, and build a waitlist. Our first sales came through direct outreach, CEU programs, and bundled journal kits. Our next wave is through digital product drops on StudyEQ.com while platform development continues.

How many customers and paid users do you have?

We’ve served over 1,000+ workshop participants across interpreting and education sectors. We’ve pre-sold EQ kits to early adopters and are preparing our subscription platform launches with waitlists in place for StudyEQ and InterpretReflect.

What's your vision and strategic roadmap for product & marketing?

Launch StudyEQ storefront + monetized kits
Soft launch InterpretReflect beta
Grow community: “The EQ Lab”
Apply for SBIR, USDA, and impact grants

Mid-Term (6–18 mo):

Build agentic workflows with Lumi + Nova AI
Begin licensing deals with schools, interpreter training programs

Long-Term (2–5 yrs):

Are you looking to raise funds at the moment?

Yes. We’re currently exploring non-dilutive funding (SBIR, USDA, HRSA, NIMH), but are preparing to raise a pre-seed round ($60–100K) to accelerate platform development, agent training, and outreach.

What would you advise to someone who is starting up?

Build from lived experience. Your deepest insights and truest products come from the problems you’ve survived. Start scrappy, automate early, and validate with real humans. Don’t wait for the tech to be perfect. The first product is your relationship with your user.
