Please Introduce Yourself and Tell Us About Your Startup?

My name is Jaime Nacach; I am the proud Founder and CEO of Virtual Latinos. The idea for Virtual Latinos came about when I was working at my first company, a digital marketing agency called Bloominari. At that time, I was looking for a virtual assistant and decided to hire someone from the Philippines.

However, this decision turned out differently than expected due to significant time zone differences and a lack of professionalism. One day, the person I hired stopped responding to my messages, again leaving me needing more help. Then, I thought about the possibility of hiring someone from Latin America, as the time difference would be negligible since I live in the United States.

Furthermore, drawn to my Mexican heritage, I knew the potential of professionals in the region and understood that sometimes the jobs or salaries were insufficient. So, I looked for my first virtual assistant from Latin America and hired someone from Guatemala.

With her, I had the support I needed, and to this day, she remains an essential part of my team. This experience inspired me to start a virtual recruiting agency that would connect professionals from Latin America with companies and entrepreneurs in the United States and Canada.

Since our founding, we have experienced accelerated growth. Our community has grown to over 10,000 professionals, and our internal team has also expanded. In 2023, we started with an internal team of 60 people; this year, 2024, we are starting with over 100 members.

In addition, Inc. 5000 magazine in the United States recognized us in its prestigious annual list of the 5000 fastest-growing private businesses in the United States, where we ranked number 80. This recognition makes us proud and marks a future of greater growth for the company.

We are dedicated to tackling two significant challenges. Firstly, we are committed to offering our clients a cost-effective solution by providing virtual professional assistance to help them achieve their business objectives efficiently and within budget constraints.

Our goal is to streamline operations and enhance productivity for our clients, allowing them to focus on strategic initiatives while we handle their day-to-day tasks. Secondly, we recognize the pressing issue of unemployment and inadequate salaries in Latin America.

By providing opportunities for virtual work, we aim to empower professionals in the region to access meaningful employment opportunities that align with their skills and expertise.

Through our platform, we seek to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, enabling professionals to advance their careers and improve their livelihoods. How Did Your Startup Gain Its Initial Momentum? Share Successful Strategies or Future Plans.

I believe a combination of three key factors propelled our business forward. At the beginning of our company, we filled a crucial void by offering the only avenue for sourcing talent across Latin America and facilitating connections with the United States and Canada.

As pioneers in this niche, we initially operated solely as a platform for businesses to scout candidates, later evolving into a full-service recruitment agency model. This transition significantly accelerated our growth trajectory as we streamlined the hiring process for our clients, saving them valuable time.

Lastly, the rise of the remote work trend in recent years provided an additional benefit, further bolstering our momentum.

What Were the Biggest Hurdles in Gaining Traction, and How Did You Overcome Them?

Right from the start, I believe every entrepreneur faces the challenge of getting their company noticed, and reaching the right audience can be tricky. Thankfully, my marketing background saved me from having to outsource this task. We rolled up our sleeves and crafted a social media strategy, launching campaigns to boost our digital presence.

It involved everything from carefully planning social media content to staying active on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Plus, investing in advertising space on these platforms really helped expand our reach and solidify our online presence, which was crucial for gaining recognition.

What’s Next for Your Startup? Any Exciting Developments on the Horizon?

Definitely! I would love to share one of our most ambitious goals for the upcoming years: to positively impact one million lives within the next decade.

If I could turn back time and offer myself a piece of advice as I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, it would be to prioritize self-care and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

In the early stages of building Virtual Latinos, I was consumed by the excitement and challenges of starting a business, often neglecting my own well-being in the process. Looking back, I realize the importance of taking breaks, staying physically active, and nurturing personal relationships outside of work.

Burnout is a real risk for entrepreneurs, and neglecting self-care can hinder long-term success and happiness.
